CREW KC is managed by a Board of Directors that works together to set and accomplish the Chapter’s strategic goals—helping to advance the success of women in commercial real estate. Serving on the CREW KC Board of Directors is a unique opportunity for leadership and networking among other ambitious men and women working in the commercial real estate field.

All CREW KC Board members, directors, and committee chairs serve individual terms of one year.

President - Jill McCarthy

With more than 29 years’ experience, Jill McCarthy leads a high-achieving business recruitment team for the Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC)— driving new business, talent attraction and capital investment to KC’s 18 county, 50+ city, bi-state region. Jill works with companies and national site location consultants considering the Kansas City metropolitan area for expansion or relocation. Jill is responsible for the implementation of strategic initiatives directing more deal flow to the region and works across multiple disciplines.

Jill holds board positions with CREW KC, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) KC Advisory Board and KC Tech Council. Jill is involved in: 7x24 Exchange, AFCOM, ACCP, IEDC as well as the state economic development peer groups, KEDA and MEDC. Jill is a mentor for the international CREW Network Leadership Certificate Program. She is also engaged with Team Fidelis, combatting Veteran suicide, and with the steering committee for the Queens of the Diamond event supporting the KC MLB Urban Youth Academy. Jill is a 2018 Honoree of the KCBJ Women Who Mean Business.

President Elect - Darcey Schumacher

Darcey Schumacher, PE, LEED AP BD+C began her career at Wallace over 18 years ago. Named a principal of the firm in 2016, she leads and manages Kansas City employees, projects, business development and talent recruitment. Darcey has worked on a variety of projects across the country and strives to balance the client's budget and design intent with the contractor's project timeline and available resources. Her passions range from managing complex projects to implementing culture-boosting initiatives to advocating for industry women to seek career parity. Darcey has formed strong relationships with diverse professionals across the AEC industry and played a large role in the successful endowment of a WiDKC scholarship for the empowerment of women.

Darcey currently serves on the CREW KC Board and on the National Council of Structural Engineers Association – Structural Engineering Equity and Engagement Committee. She is Past President of the Kansas City Architectural Foundation and is currently a member of the Structural Engineering Association of Kansas and Missouri, the American Institute of Steel Construction, National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, an affiliate member of American Institute of Architects, and was named 2017 ENR Midwest and National 20 Under 40 award winner.
