The Communications Committee is responsible for researching and implementing creative, effective ways of connecting internally with CREW KC members, and externally between CREW KC and the commercial real estate industry regarding the goals of the CREW Kansas City Chapter, committee goals, and topics of interest. This is accomplished through publishing a bi-monthly news email, capitalizing on public relations opportunities, ensuring the website is current, and crafting an annual marketing campaign.
MEETINGS: First Thursday of each month, 12:00PM (lunch provided) at KCADC in Union Station.
The committee is responsible for coordinating CREW KC’s annual golf tournament. The tournament provides members and guests with a fun event, held at a popular area course, in which to network, strengthen relationships, market their companies and get a deal done! A portion of the proceeds are donated to the CREW Network Foundation, the only foundation dedicating its resources solely towards advancing women in the commercial real estate industry. No golf experience required to serve on this committee! The golf committee is a seasonal program, and a great way for members looking for ways to gain additional organizational involvement.
MEETINGS: Fourth Monday of each month, 4:00PM at Panera - 7070 Martway St, Mission, KS.
The Membership Committee is responsible for responding to inquiries about membership, communicating with prospective and new members, coordinating membership applications and reviewing applications for submission to the board. The membership committee plans prospective member events and welcomes new members into the organization through person introductory coffee and lunch.

The Mentorship Committee focuses on bringing CREW KC members together in purposeful, mutually rewarding relationships through the organization’s annual Mentorship Program. The committee is responsible for distributing and reviewing applications and matching mentees with their best-fit mentor, based on the profile information provided. The committee facilitates several face-to-face group meetings, including a kick-off event where participants will meet their match and set expectations for the coming year. The committee will provide materials that participants may follow throughout the year to enhance a successful relationship.
Programs / Community Connections Committee
Beginning in 2019, the Programs Committee and Community Connections Committee will now operate as one. Together, we coordinate general program offerings and our more philanthropic and community oriented events.
The Programs Committee works to develop and deliver a variety of programs on educational, timely and informative topics. Program offerings include quarterly luncheons, happy hours, project tours, coffee-arounds, industry sector roundtables, and professional development events. Current topics, dynamic speakers and the chance to feature women in real estate result in programs that stimulate, inform and inspire members and guests. Each year, the programs committee brainstorms topics, speakers and locations for meetings. Specific tasks include developing the program idea, securing and briefing speakers; determining the location and providing information for communication and marketing materials. Committee members establish a program lead that is responsible for obtaining speakers, gathering speaker(s) contact information and bio, coordinating all logistics and writing the program summary.
The Community Connections Committee strives to connect members of CREW KC with one another and with others in the community. The Committee builds external connections through charitable projects and outreach to students and others interested in pursuing careers in commercial real estate. The Committee is charged with selecting CREW KC’s charitable partners and projects. The Community Connections Committee, often in collaboration with other CREW KC committees, has planned and held events at the Rose Brooks Center, recruited volunteers to work on Habitat for Humanity houses, volunteered at Girls on the Run events and headed up numerous donation drives. The committee is continually trying to find new ways to be involved in our community and participate in events that are important to our members.

CREW KC offers a variety of sponsorship opportunities, with a range of benefits. The Sponsorship Committee works to obtain corporate sponsors for the organization, primarily the annual sponsors and for the monthly luncheon meetings and special events.
