The Programs/Community Connections Committee works to develop and deliver a variety of programs on educational, timely and informative topics. Program offerings include quarterly luncheons, happy hours, project tours, coffee-arounds, industry sector roundtables, and professional development events. Current topics, dynamic speakers and the chance to feature women in real estate result in programs that stimulate, inform and inspire members and guests. Each year, the programs committee brainstorms topics, speakers and locations for meetings. Specific tasks include developing the program idea, securing and briefing speakers; determining the location and providing information for communication and marketing materials. Committee members establish a program lead that is responsible for obtaining speakers, gathering speaker(s) contact information and bio, coordinating all logistics and writing the program summary.
The Programs/Community Connections Committee strives to connect members of CREW KC with one another and with others in the community. The Committee builds external connections through charitable projects and outreach to students and others interested in pursuing careers in commercial real estate. The Committee is charged with selecting CREW KC’s charitable partners and projects. The Committee, often in collaboration with other CREW KC committees, has planned and held events at the Rose Brooks Center, recruited volunteers to work on Habitat for Humanity houses, volunteered at Girls on the Run events and headed up numerous donation drives. The committee is continually trying to find new ways to be involved in our community and participate in events that are important to our members.
